Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
JiuJitsu is a form of grappling/wrestling that relies on joint manipulation and chokes to defeat or control an opponent.
In beginner classes, students focus on basic skills and drills that include submissions, sweeps and escapes.
Advanced students learn how to use more complex transitions and submissions.
Muay Thai Boxing
Muay Thai Boxing: The national sport of Thailand, also called “the sport of eight limbs”, combines punches and kicks with elbow and knee strikes to create a brutal sport that is highly effective for fighting.
We start with the fundamentals: clinch work, leg kicks, knee strikes, elbow strikes and punches. Both Dan Kedem and Charlie Hinkley coach the sport of Muay Thai.
The gym focuses heavily on boxing.
Students in beginner classes go through a rigourous cardio class that includes the fundamentals of foot work and punching.
Advanced students will work on more complex combination punches and footwork, counter punching, head movement and defense and live sparring.
Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed Martial Arts is a hybrid of many disciplines.
Here, we focus on JiuJitsu, boxing, Muay Thai Boxing, wrestling and judo to create a unique fighting style that produces well-rounded fighters who are looking to compete in MMA bouts.
Our style distinguishes itself from other gyms and the effective results can be seen in our fighters of all ages.
Wrestling is crucial to mixed martial arts. Moves are practiced on a weekly basis: takedowns, reversals, escapes and overall control of an opponent are all learned through wrestling. New classes have been added for youth wrestling on M,T, W 4:00- 5:00pm
In these classes, often taught in private lessons or through seminars scheduled in advance, we practice a core set of techniques that work in conjunction with practical responses to an attack, especially when the attacker is larger.
The methods are learned quickly and are remembered for a lifetime.
Strength and Conditioning
Offered in classes and private lessons, these sessions will work on core strength, as well as tightening and toning your arms, legs and abs. The curriculum is designed to push you harder than you’ve been pushed before.
